Here what happened:
- i changed the tracklist of a vinyl release, having wrong tracks (2 tracks of 19:10 each) to the correct tracklist (6 tracks, 3 per side, total 19:10 per side)
- so 6 new recordings were created, and 2 were left alone
- 5 minutes later i create the digital release, which has 2 tracks of 19:10, matching the 2 recordings previously on the vinyl release
- when i tried to re-use those recordings (found via indexed search), the submit failed
- i created 2 new recordings, wondering why i couldn't re-use previous recordings, with the intent to merge them later
- just after the new release was created, i went to merge old recordings to new ones, search for them, found them (via indexed search)
- finally noticed those 2 recordings didn't exist anymore
- modbot prolly removed them because they were unrelated to anything
It would be better if modbot didn't remove those recordings that fast, 2 mbids lost, and from user point of view this is a bit unexpected.
What about enforcing the 24 hours delay in this case ?
