https://musicbrainz.org/ws/2/release/c62d1506-9e8c-447c-88de-e3feee7da8ae?fmt=json just returns the release data inside JSON. It's been proposed (e.g. in the comments for MBS-8979) to instead packing this data inside a JSON object, with the "release => {}" structure. This might or might not be desirable, but we should consider it when preparing ws/3 and take a specific decision either way.
