Phonetics are removed, leaving only empty brackets in the WP excerpt.
https://musicbrainz.org/artist/5441c29d-3602-4898-b1a1-b77fa23b8e50 (English) shows « known professionally as David Bowie (), was an English singer » instead of « known professionally as David Bowie (/ˈboʊi/),[2] was an English singer. »
No problem in French, where the phonetics (differently presented) is not wiped out.
Deutsch and Nederlands WP pages don’t have phonetics for this artist so I don’t know.
English excerpt for Zamfir https://musicbrainz.org/artist/4024e553-6dd7-426c-9ff4-323b17a01063 does show the phonetics, so it’s because of a Bowie WP page problem or specificity.
It’s true that as far as I remember, phonetics should always come between square brackets, which is not the case in Bowie’s page.
Zamfir page in Deutsch removes some text before the comma after his name, « Gheorghe Zamfir (; * 6. April 1941 in Găești, Kreis Dâmbovița) ist ein rumänischer Panflötist. » instead of « Gheorghe Zamfir (Aussprache?/i; * 6. April 1941 in Găești, Kreis Dâmbovița) ist ein rumänischer Panflötist. » but it seems legitimate to remove Aussprache but then we should remove the following coma… but really it looks impossible to cope with all the specificities of WP markup…
