It looks like some documentation has been written for performing oauth via metabrainz.org as per https://blog.metabrainz.org/2026/06/25/upcoming-changes-to-user-accounts-and-authentication/
This documentation is in the metabrainz git repo at https://github.com/metabrainz/metabrainz.org/tree/master/docs/oauth - it looks like the intent was to publish it using readthedocs.io, but as far as I can tell, this documentation has not been published anywhere - I was unable to find any places which link to the docs, and they weren't at any of the URLs I attempted to guess.
Some places where links should be added include:
- A general "developer docs" link somewhere on the metabrainz.org site - in the header menu or footer somewhere?
- From the oauth applications management page: https://metabrainz.org/profile/applications
- On service-specific oauth documentation pages, e.g. https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Development/OAuth2, https://critiquebrainz.readthedocs.io/api.html (the MetaBrainz oauth docs should be expected to replace these pages in the future), https://listenbrainz.readthedocs.io/en/latest/users/api/index.html (once oauth support is implemented in listenbrainz)
