In addition to the ID3 support for WAVE files implemented in PICARD-1128 Picard could also support reading / writing the metadata from the INFO chunk.
As the INFO is very limited regarding the available metadata and has no encoding support it could maybe be handled somewhat like how we deal with ID3v1:
- Read the INFO chunk automatically, but if available data from ID3 takes precedence
- Make writing INFO optional
- Default to ISO-8859-1 or maybe Windows-1252 encoding for the INFO chunk data, this seems to be the most compatible. We could offer an option to optionally save as UTF-8. Not sure if there is Software supporting this, but at least it would be compatible for the ASCII characters.
