Running a lookup function on a whole-album flac file, with no disc identifier in the existing tags (and since Picard currently cannot compute an identifier from cue sheets), the application momentarily displays the following message in the status bar:
> No matching tracks above the threshold for files.
Several problems may be noted:
- The particular error message gives a user little effective information about the actual cause, which is inability to resolve any disc identifier.
- The message appears only in the status bar, and only momentarily. It is easy to miss, and often not possible to view fully.
- The message is impossible to capture in some persistent form, such as a log file.
- It is impossible to view in one place all the error messages accumulated for a batch operation (e.g. lookup operation with multiple items selected). Each message occurs occurs the same place as the previous before being replaced by the next.
