Added Folder (with 100K+ songs) had loaded fine with 2.7.3 the day before, just trying 2.8rc1 for the first time.

      Crash log is below...

[PICARD-2467] Crash adding folder in Picard

Actually closing as duplicate of PICARD-2465

Great to hear, thanks a lot for confirming and generally for testing.

          It has, no more crash.

I have uploaded a recent build with the changes to https://transfer.sh/tCp0T8/MusicBrainz-Picard-2.8.0.rc1+1.166aa6c5.20220504150901-macOS-10.14.dmg

Could you test this and tell me whether this fixes the crashes for you?

Thanks a lot. Yes, it's likely the same core issue. I'll provide a new build, probably tomorrow. It would be great if you could test that then

Looks like the 60 CD Johnny Cash release is causing it..

Does look like that same recursion error.

          I've attached the debug output.

This might be a similar issue like PICARD-2465, caused by the changes in PICARD-2454. Possible that the partial reversal of these changes also fixes your issue. I can provide a build to test once we have merged this.

Thanks for the report. The attached crash log does unfortunately not help tracking down the root case of the crash.

Could you start Picard from a terminal and then cause it to crash and post the terminal output here? If you have placed the Picard app in the default Applications folder (/Applications) then you can start it from terminal with:

          "/Applications/MusicBrainz Picard/Contents/MacOS/picard-run" --debug

Adjust the path if you have placed the app elsewhere. The output hopefully helps us identify the root cause.

Let's see to get this fixed for the final 2.8 release.
