Thanks for reporting this, much appreciated.

As mentioned this was already resolved in PICARD-2659, so I'm closing this ticket here as a duplicate.

As a workaround one can also set the port of the MusicBrainz server in Options > General to 443, then Picard also won't show this login message again and again.

It has already been fixed in current master tree, and beta3 will contain the fix, it should be released soon. Thanks for the report.

I reverted back to 2.9.0b1 and this problem does not happen.
