Started as a thread here: https://community.metabrainz.org/t/picard-v3-albumartists-diff-highlighting-question/815906
After upgrading to Picard v3, I noticed that the differ algorithm is somewhat inconsistent. It may indicate that some tracks within an album I'm tagging have a bigger difference when in fact all tracks have only one differing tag and everything else is the same. This erodes trust to the differ and forces the user to check every single track individually.
Some examples:
In both albums which have been fully tagged before Picard v3 there's only 1 differing field: the albumartists tag has been added. Yet, it makes it falsely look that certain tracks have other discrepancies.
Just to make sure I'm sane, I've installed Picard v2 again on a VM and checked the same scenario (manually added albumartists tag). The differ shows correct results: all tracks have the same background color saturation.
