Cuesheets may have more than one FILE, depending on how the CD was ripped. Please see the example below. I have picked this example because you will note that the first two tracks were extracted into a single file and the remaining gaps are each in a separate file. (This was done by EAC, I do not fully understand what caused EAC to put the first two tracks in a single file, but I suspect something on the CD must indicate that the first two movements merge).

Picard assumes there is only one FILE per album and fails to process this cuesheet correctly, using the name of the first track in the FILE for the album and leaving the old file names for the remaining tracks.

Separating albums into multiple files is not uncommon amongst those who listen to genres when there are often multiple un-related works on a CD.
