My experience with catalogue numbers (which might be partial and which is mainly based on disc catalogues like KIBM-324 and KIBM-325 rather than combined catalog numbers like KIBM-324/5) shows that we should trim both query and data from non alphanumeric characters KIBM-324→KIBM324 so that it works whatever the separators used by MB editor and MB searcher.
It's like many big websites do (joshinweb KIBM-324=[KIBM324|http://joshinweb.jp/cdshops/Dps?KEY=RECODE&FM=0&KEYWORD=KIBM324], amazon KIBM-324=[KIBM324|http://amazon.jp/s?field-keywords=KIBM324], hmv no longer, etc.).
