On digital platforms, sometimes releases will be listed with the artist's name in place of a label, or a placeholder assigned by a distributor (e.g. 123456 Records DK). To allot for this, some editors have been adding "imprints" to match. Someone said there's no guideline that says not to do either of these things, so here we are.
Here's a sample update to the Special Purpose Label guidelines:
If a digital release is listed with an artist's name in place of a label, or with a placeholder such as "XXXXXX Records DK", do not create a new label to match. Use [no label].

Updated https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Style%2FUnknown_and_untitled%2FSpecial_purpose_label with:
For digital releases a label field is sometimes required by stores, and as such self-releases sometimes get assigned the artist name, or a code assigned by the distributor (such as "123456 Records DK"), as the designed "label". These are still self-releases and should generally be added as [no label].
