I would like to add a document to the official style guidelines devoted to "digital media" (i.e. online) releases.

The existing guidelines seem to be largely focused on physical media. As a result, it can be challenging for new or occasional editors to add digital media "correctly" without first reading hundreds of forum comments spread across dozens of threads to attempt to determine the current consensus. (I'm writing from personal experience. )

I have posted a proposal at https://community.metabrainz.org/t/proposed-unofficial-digital-media-guidelines/626807. After several rounds of editing, I believe that it describes current practices with regard to multiple releases and release countries. (There are more topics that can and probably should be documented around digital media, e.g. release dates, but I'd like to start with these two.)

As far as I'm aware, there is strong support (and no opposition) from community members, including many with extensive experience in editing digital media.

Could you take a look at the proposed document in the first post of that thread and decide if it is appropriate for inclusion in the official guidelines? Thanks!
