Here is the obvious example: https://beta.musicbrainz.org/event/8fcc13cf-fa69-4293-8af3-e96e387d708b/event-art

What about "evolving" lineup posters? The festivals start with the first wave of artists and with the time there will be more artists announced which will be added to the poster.

But I think differentiation is also possible:

[STYLE-2549] Add new event art type: "Lineup"

I was not aware of the ordering feature. I think it will be fine with it. The use case is primarily to show the most actual poster (Full Lineup). Anything else will be shown in some kind of gallery, if at all.

The other types mentioned in the ticket were just the result of brainstorming. If we find a good wording to clarify it will be great to have the additional types but for me it is optional for now.

Poster with ordering guideline will cover "Full Lineup" and "Ongoing Lineup" and maybe "Full Lineup by Days/Stages".
But for the latter i would like to have a secondary type. Or the guideline, that the Full Lineup should have an higher order than Full Lineup by Days/Stages.

And in addition something like "Announcement of additional artists" instead of "Linup Announcement"

Precedent for images in MB has been to have the most recent/primary images first in the image order. For instance, if multiple images are marked 'front', the first one will be used for tagging and display. This could be put into guidelines for Event art, as an alternative way to define 'ongoing' or 'additive' posters?

By the way, it took me a little while to figure out what was meant with 'ongoing lineup' vs 'lineup announcement', even with examples, which means that editors may struggle with that level of granularity, as well. And you may not get good data, even if the types are there.

That said, this is clearly something you need for your app, so there is a use case? My feedback isn't that we shouldn't support the types you need, but that if you can simplify the types needed it is more likely of being implemented. Tickets that can't find overwhelming consensus tend to languish in MB

A secondary type will be fine.

The thing is, that I need to know, which of the posters is the most actual. When I only show one poster, I want to show the latest. A secondary type and even the types I suggested above does not fulfill this requirement when the full lineup is not known yet.

I could see this maybe being useful as a secondary type, like for tickets and posters that have the full artist lineup, but I don't feel this is essential

The example you've linked includes the lineup, but imo it is still a poster. It's standard for the posters to have the acts on it, and festivals just happen to have a lot of acts taking up a lot of space?

A lineup type would be useful , but I wonder if I would use 'setlist' more/instead... I'll add it now

edit: oh, I just saw we have a 'schedule' ticket as well! tbh personally if there is schedule + setlist types I don't know if I would ever use 'lineup'
