A lot of classical & folklore music is to be classified as dance (or dance music).

This doesn't necessary mean (especially for classical) they are specifically intended to be danced on, or the dance is integral part of the performance. (For classical, that would be: ballet). But the form of the music is that of a dance. Most classical music that is classified as "dance" has actually roots in the folklore/traditional music.

It's in fact a catch-all for many specific musical forms, which all are closely related to a specific dance, or have their origin in such music.

To give a (not intended to be complete) list of what should be classified as "dance", some both appear in classical & folklore music:

Mazurka, Polka, Hora, Sîrba, Sarabande, Menuet, Breaza, Walz, Polonaise, just Dance/Joc/Danse/..., Tarantelle, Allemande, Bourrée, Gigue, Courante, ....

      The list is long, ...

At this moment, I have entered numerous works of this nature, leaving the type of work open.
