I think we would need adding some basic guidelines to avoid duplicate ARs on events. Specifically, when a recording is linked to some event, I think we should discourage adding links also to the location but link the location to the event itself, following the principles of https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Style/Relationships/Do_not_cluster.

For the typical case of a n-track release recorded on a concert, fixing the location would mean editing the event instead of the n recordings of the release itself. This also helps with splitting an event festival into separate events for each day/day+stage etc if needed.

I also think we would need some guidelines for Festivals. Where should we add performance artist relationships: at the festival event, day event, a separate event for the artist/band performance itself, the recordings? Where should we recommend putting dates: at the event, at the event<->recording AR, both? Personally I would keep the date on the event only, unless the event spans multiple days (i.e. a Festival) and there are no per-day events added (yet). Also, should we recommend adding events for each day, for each separate concert, for each stage, all of them?

Also, I think Series are meant to be used to group different editions of the same festival (i.e. the Festival event for each year) instead of linking individual performances. If that's the case, should we mention that on the guideline(s)?

P.S. Please don't take this as the usual RFC requiring a up/down vote, a somewhat fixed timeframe to move to RFV, etc. Instead, I would like to start some discusison about how we want to handle these cases in order to start some sort of "draft" guidelines on the wiki to work on.
