Something that might make sense is having a way to store the usual catalogue number prefixes for a label. Some labels don't use prefixes, but the aliases wouldn't be required anyway. Some labels use the same prefixes for multiple imprints, but that's not a problem either since multiple labels can have the same alias.
It would add another way to search for possible labels, since entering the prefix could bring up a list of labels which tend to use that prefix.
Some labels already mention the prefixes in the annotation. If we wanted, we could display the aliases on the overview page (like we do for legal names of artists). Probably wouldn't replace more complex annotations though.
It could be used as a way to find releases that might have been added to the wrong label, e.g. if there are two labels called "Some Label", with different prefixes, and a release under one actually has the prefix from the other, that's something that should probably be checked out.
I guess technically it's not an alias in the usual sense, but I'm not sure it's something worth adding a whole new field for. It could potentially be migrated to dynamic attributes if we ever implement MBS-8393 though.
