Currently the Release style guide under "Date" only states "The release date should not be used to store the performance/recording date, the copyright date or the import date." It does not mention anything about release dates for individual editions. I have seen editors add reissued releases using the original release date in lieu of the date that particular edition was released. I propose the guideline be updated with a clarification such as "For reissued releases, use the date when that particular edition was released rather than the original release date."
