There are groups of Places (venues, studios, colleges, etc.) that are linked together as an established chain (or "system" in the case of institutions of higher learning). Adding a Series type for these cases might be the easiest way to link them all together, aside from adding a whole new entity type.

Example: University of California and University of California, Santa Barbara are part of the University of California system
The House of Blues chain has locations in Dallas, Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, Anaheim,
Cleveland, Las Vegas, etc.

This would require a Place-Series "part of" relationship, which we currently do not have enabled.
