The credits on https://musicbrainz.org/release/df44641b-7e90-463d-9697-7e60c0aeab5c say that Michael Manring plays the "Electric Bass" and the "Electric Bass [fretless]" at least according to https://www.discogs.com/release/6905495 . I think Fretless Bass is not the same as Electric Fretless Bass, so I'm requesting to add it as an instrument.

          Origin-In 1930s, in Washington Seattle

          Created By-Jaco Pastorius

          Other Name-Bass guitar

Usage-It has strings with which we play music. The speciality is that even if we change the angle of the finger which presses strings creates a different sound.

Types-They are of 2 types, with or without frets. The fundamental difference between the two is thatone has frets all the way upto to the neck, whereas in without frets, it has a smooth fngerboard.Other factors like the body shape, electronics, and string tuning is same for both instruments. Both the instruments can play with plectrum  or without, though it is less common to play plectrum on fretless.

Advantages of frettless bass- Fretless allows smooth switching on the fingerboard tha that of a fretted.Hence on a fretless one has more freedom over tuning of music than on fretted.

Disadvantages of fretless bass-Fretted bass are relatively easier to play since you donot have to apply a greater finger pressure. Also, since on a fretless bass, fingers can be placed anywhere on the fingerboard, this also intruduces a possibility of error.

And strings of fast notes cannot be easily done on a fretless bass than on a fretted one.

Tonal Difference -Another difference is in their tonal qualities.Since fretless basses are toned by fingers, they have a much smoother tone. While the fretted bass have a sharper tone which are rich in harmonics.

The difference between the 2 can be related to that of playing bass with plectrum and playing the same bass without plectrum.

Which to use when- It depends on user's preference on song being played.Eg-For Bass lines such as the one in 'The Beatles' 'With a Little Help From My Friends' would not work with a fretted bass, while ones such as the bass line used in 'Drive My Car' would be impossible with a fretless bass.

          **Other considerations of Bass guitars-

          • Traditionally, they come with 4 strings, however you can also find 5 string ones with a string lower than the traditional E string or even a 6 string bass guitar which have have the low B and a string tuned higher than the G string, a high B.
          • Another consideration is depending upon the size of neck.A bass guitar with a traditional length is known as  full scale.3/4 scale or short scale bass guitars are also available. The short scale bass guitars have closer frets, thus making it easier to swtich for small hands.

AFAIK, there are bass that are acoustic/electric, and bass with/without frets. This gives 4 kinds of bass guitars: Electric Bass / Electric Fretless Bass  / (Acoustic) Bass Guitar / (Acoustic) Fretless Bass Guitar.

Check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustic_bass_guitar and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_guitar#Fretted_and_fretless_basses  for more information.
