Import in Beta creates too many listens / duplicates

I have used two different importers on the Beta page, the import from Alpha and a few days later the direct import via username. Now I have a listen count of 83,657 and the listens on top show the older state from the Alpha import. The real number on Last.fm is 33,953, so there must be some dupes in the list. I suspect an import failure.

Maybe this helps: I have deleted my account and opened it again. After importing my Last.fm again, the total number of listens is doubled. So I think there are no actual double listens, it's just that the total counter doesn't reset to zero after deleting the account.

There are reports in the forums too, but I haven't been able to find the reason for the bug in our code (if it is in our code). https://community.metabrainz.org/t/listenbrainz-problem-with-import/331322/7

Is this still an issue? Since the beta has ended, I wonder if this can be replicated. I thought I remembered reading a note somewhere stating that the Last.fm and imported number of listens might differ, but I can't find that note now.

Sorry for the delay, I import about 1 time a week and the number of listens seems to grow, it's always higher than my scrobble count on Last.fm. Now I have 43,518 listens and 43,369 scrobbles. I have also tried to reset the library on ListenBrainz a couple of weeks ago, but the problem occured again. It's also possible that the number on Last.fm is sinking instead, I didn't save the count. Either way, there is a difference on display.

Hi, could you post the timeframe in which you did these imports? We've done some influx schema changes and this might be a bug related to that.

Also, a link to your profile page would be helpful too, thanks!
