      Description

You can find my original description after the line further down there.

In fact this post‐NGS problem was premonitory foreseen by Aurélien Mino even pre‐NGS.

He was able to explain better than me exactly the problem we have now and why we should stop allowing edits from apps.

I don’t know how mobile apps work and how do they allow doing “Edit barcodes” edits but I stumbled upon some edits that tell me the apps are maybe allowing this in a bad way.
      Seems similar problem as MBS-8542.

Why should apps be allowed to change bar codes?
I thought apps would only allow browsing collections and stuff, reading only.

I don’t think app user have enough context presented to them to be able to edit safely.
And it seems they cannot even attach edit notes to their edits and they seem not responsive to our edit notes.
