Currently first release dates are calculated only from the releases a recording appears on. This leaves standalone recordings uncovered. It has been suggested to extend this to standalone recordings in the same way we calculate lengths (allow users to enter them by hand for standalones, but calculate from releases if the recording subsequently gets used in one or more releases).
