Updated info
After a lot of debate in the comments and elsewhere, it was decided to implement this as an automatically calculated field that matches the date of the earliest release containing this recording, since it avoids risk of duplication while still providing useful data for the vast majority of recordings. I've entered MBS-11471 for a possible later extension that would also cover standalone recordings.

While the proposed way of giving a release date to "tracks" on ticket 657 wouldn't really work (we lack too many old releases + doesn't apply to NATs), the idea itself sounds pretty useful to me. Would give some nice extra info to NATs / SRs too.
