A way to follow editors without subscribing / finer control over subscriptions: muting subs?

I'm subscribed to various types of subscriptions, artist, editors, and labels etc, and I like to subscribe manually and keep my subscriptions minimal.

Some editors are very active and it becomes spam-like to receive daily updates on their edits, that for the vast majority of the time, do not concern me. I simply want to "bookmark" them, or add them as a friend, and I see no way to add an editor to a collection (technically, one could make a new collection and add people as collaborators which could sort of act like a friends list).

I would reduce the regularity with which emails are received, but that'd also reduce the speed at which I know about edits for artist subscriptions (because subscriptions are treated all the the same: their email frequency cannot be customised on a subscription-type basis).

If not a friend/follow system, then a way to mute individual subscriptions, therefore I could continue to subscribe to editors, but just mute the "noisier" ones I receive too many emails for. A list of muted subscriptions would be ideal. This seems like the simplest idea which would help.

Any kind of finer-grained control for subscriptions would be appreciated!

      Thanks 🙂
