While the MusicBrainz guidelines require that the submitted front cover match exactly the actual release's cover (e.g. the rectangular dimension of a Digipak cover), it's not always the best option for tagging digital files from that same release in Picard.
In such cases, a square, high quality cover is preferable to a bad rectangular scanned image. These high quality covers can easily be found on the web, e.g. in digital music stores.
For this purpose, I suggest:
- To add a specific cover type (e.g. "Tagging", "Digital"...) beside the existing ones ("Front", "Back"...)
- To add an option in MusicBrainz to preferably use this image whenever available for tagging.
