When in the tracklist editor, when no field is already selected/focussed, pressing a keyboard letter could focus on the first track field that starts with that letter (+ number/symbol?).
Ideally multiple key presses in quick succession will focus on a track starting with that complete string.
Stretch goals:
- Could also do this in a normal album view, skip down to the track starting with that letter (not the editor)
- Could also do this in the artist view, skip down to the album starting with that letter
- Other views?
Caveat:
Need to triple check that this doesn't interfere with user flow. I am suspicious about how straightforward this seems (usually I can think of more potential problems...)
Why:
Google Drive just* released an update support first-letter navigation, to bring their file browsing interface more in line with desktop/operating system browsing.
It was a bit tricky for Google, because they had to re-jig some existing shortcuts to now be two-key shortcuts - but it would be a freebie for us, since we don't have any shortcuts in the editor (or anywhere else?)!
