      Relationships of the same type and with the same entities that only differ in time ranges could be displayed combined.

      So instead of "X was member of Y from 2000 to 2001", "X was member of Y from 2005 to present" it could say "X was member of Y from 2000 to 2001 and from 2005 to present".
