Cancel from merge recordings page doesnt remember where you were previously

      Go to an artists recording tab
      Select two recordings two merge
      Select Add Selected recording for merging
      Click Cancel

      It takes you back http://musicbrainz.org/ rather than the page you were on previously (the recordings tab)
