To reproduce:

• Load https://beta.musicbrainz.org/search/edits and add an editor condition
• Select an editor, either by typing and selecting a search result or by clicking on a recently used editor
• Press backspace

Expected result: Current selection is cleared and the field goes white
Actual result: Current selection is kept

• Add another editor condition

Expected result: The last-used editor in the recent editors list is shown with the correct editor name
Actual result: The last-used editor in the recent editors list is shown with the last character missing, because you backspaced it (you can also backspace the entire name, which will result in an empty row in the recent editors)

• Type something

Expected result: A new search is triggered
Actual result: The original editor is still selected, even if you've backspaced the entire name first

• Click the search button

Expected result: A new search is triggered
Actual result: Nothing happens
