When edit wars break out on sites like Wikipedia, users (primarily admins) can lock or "protect" an article to prevent it from being edited any further. We desperately need such a feature here. Certain entities have been the subject of edit wars recently, and there's no way to stem the tide of destructive edits other than watching those responsible and reverting the edits as they come.
