While most data (such as entity names, artist credits, etc.) is filtered to merge consecutive whitespace, remove invalid characters, ensure the characters are in NFC, etc., there is no equally comprehensive cleanup of multi-line inputs (such as edit notes, annotations). We should modify the relevant code to optionally leave line breaks untouched, then run it for those fields, too.
