Arch Linux
My problem is two-fold;
1 - when I'm batch processing multiple file (opening, rewriting, etc.), the status bar is filled with updates to what is happening.
if I wish to, at the same time, to see another files path, so I can ready in my mind what to Save next, I cannot because the dispayed path gets quickly cleared from the status bar by the continual stream of event updates.
2 - there is no way to preview a files new path before saving.
My proposal; an (optional) extra Path View/Preview bar, above the status bar line, that displays the filename path when a file is selected, and, when a Preview mode is activated (and indicated somehow in the bar), displays what the file name will become after saving.
Edit: this would also help in cases where, with smaller resolutions, the right hand end of the path string in the status bar get cut off by the numbers etc. on the right end of the status bar.
