Picard has a steep learning curve for new users, with little explained or signposted without having to go into the documentation.

A 'beginner/basic display mode' could improve uptake and reduce support load, without requiring any of the current UI to be reworked (this becomes the 'advanced mode')

      See attached mockup.

      Proposed features:

      • A clear path/order to follow when tagging local files
(assuming tagging files is a new users main use-case)
      • Removal of features/buttons not needed for the above
      • Basic descriptions of what the main panel functions are
      • A prominent link to the excellent Picard docs

      Missing:

      • A way to make it clear that the user can drag & drop between panels?

      Suggestions and changes welcome.
