This is fairly easy to reproduce with an album of VGM from Japan.
Basically, v2.xx (tested behavior using v2.13.3) would apply the "Translate artist names to these locales where possible" setting to the Arranger and Composer field (possibly others, these are the ones I immediately noticed). This older behavior is the correct behavior IMO, as it leaves artists in the same script; without this behavior you end up with the Artist field being transliterated into Latin script while the composer/arranger fields remain in the original language.
v3.0 no longer does this with the equivalent settings set to translate artist names where possible. I've included a screenshot of the configuration in v3.0.2 as well as what it thinks it wants to change a track to that was saved with v2.13.3, where it's wanting to rewrite the Latin script names for those fields to the Japanese script names.
The release ID that is shown in the screenshot is 315da233-7fc4-4aae-82eb-c252220fbb88.
