The option "Translate artist names to this locale where possible" should be extended to prefer artist aliases with a certain script (character set).

Reasoning:

Artist http://musicbrainz.org/artist/af5499e0-8a48-4a53-bedd-3c4c67e688b6 has a Japanese standardized name and an English alias "Masuda Junichi". No German alias is set. Now if I set my locale to "German", I will end up with "増田順一" as artist-name which I can not read at all.

So I'd prefer getting some alias in Latin script, no matter which locale it has. At least I could read that alias, which I can never read the Japanese symbols.
