This is a major usability problem in Japanese for example, where it now becomes impossible to read titles where the full-width space would have separated parts of the title (because the normal space takes up far less than half a full-width character with most fonts, and there is no longer a (visible) break in the line of characters.)
The alternative is to insert dashes or shoehorn English-oriented colons into titles where they should not belong.
This problem has existed, at least with Firefox, for probably over a year.
